Welcome to the final article in this series. A description about IoT and its applications on some ordinary situations took place in the previous parts. Now let's move ahead to the industrial uses of IoT which has been already applied in many places.
From small to large industries which use various types of large machineries, lots of labour is needed to operate and maintain them. With the use of this technology it can be reduced and it will save a great sum of money which will increase the overall profit. In some cases, the errors which can't be found manually will also be identified accurately. At the same time there are many other advantages too such as predictive maintenance, statistical evaluation, energy optimization, automated controls, plant optimization and health and safety management. The reliability and efficiency also gets increased.
In the current world, farmers are facing many troubles in managing the crops due to various unexpected weather problems. But their hard work provides life to everyone. IoT can be used to solve some of their issues by collecting current data on temperature, rainfall, humidity, wind speed, pest infestation, and soil content. When any issues detected, they can be immediately informed to the farmers through digital devices, so they can take necessary protective steps.
Since this is the final article in this series, we need to also consider about the negative effects of IoT here. First of all the users of this technology, may face large privacy issues. For example, if anyone could hack a smart home system, it may cause critical problems to the owner. Another disadvantage is people's over-reliance on technology. Though technology makes life easier to humans, they also make them lazy and reduces their technical skills. In the current world there is more demand for the physical workers such as electricians and plumbers. In the same way, future generation will have lack of these simple knowledge which we do ourselves today. Since this concept makes production more efficient and accurate, many poeple lose their job which increases unemployment rate and poverty. Already this is a common issue in many countries.
Though I didn't cover any advanced topics about Internet of Things, this series was mainly focused on newcomers of this topic to provide some brief understanding about this concept. For further knowledge do more researches and get the most out of this technology.
